Boston Truck Donations: How donating a truck could help support WGBH programming
Do you have an old truck that is ready to move on to its next home? Have you considered selling your truck, but don’t want to hassle with trying to find a buyer? Are you looking to upgrade to an eco-friendly electric truck, but you’re not sure what to do with the ol’ gas guzzler?
We make the process of donating a truck easy! Our program will handle the pickup of your truck at no cost to you. You may also qualify for a tax deduction for the value of your truck.
With every charitable truck and SUV donation, you help to spread high-quality programs and content for community members in Boston, Salem, Worcester, and even out in the smaller communities like Brookfield, Hardwick, and Ware.
Whether your road is dirt or paved, you can donate a truck or SUV to WGBH Public Media in Boston.
We know it’s difficult to part with your old workhorse truck or family SUV. However, GBH’s vehicle donation program makes it easy to donate your Ford, Toyota, GMC, or Ram – and give support for GBH in the process! In addition, GBH’s vehicle donation program accepts a wide array of vehicles beyond trucks and SUVs. We accept cars, boats, RVs, and more – even if they are no longer running!
How donating a truck to WGBH works
• Call 866-400-9424 or submit the online vehicle donation form. (Text in blue would be a hyper link)
• Schedule a pickup of your truck or SUV from anywhere in Massachusetts, or anywhere in the United States. Our Vehicle Donation Support Team is there every step of the way to offer support and assistance!
• Receive a donation tax receipt once your truck or SUV has sold.

What are some basic requirements for donating a truck or SUV?
• The vehicle has a clear title. If you do not have the title, please call us anyway as some states have exceptions.
• The vehicle is in one piece and towable.
• The vehicle is accessible for safe towing.
• The vehicle does not need to be running.
• In some cases, photos may be required. This is mostly for vehicles that have been modified, are of a certain age, or are of an unusual size or shape.
Does my truck or SUV have to be registered?
• This varies from state to state. Each Vehicle Donor Service Representative is equipped with a 50-state guide for the steps necessary in each state. They will advise you of these steps during the donation process.
